When playing rummy, players usually use a standard deck of cards & try to create legitimate combinations, or melds. A meld can be made up of runs (three or more consecutive cardsanimal-themed slots of the same suit) or sets (three or four cards of the same rank). In rummy, the movement describes how players draw and discard cards to form these melds while skillfully controlling their hand. The game starts with a card being drawn from the discard pile or the stockpile, and then players must strategically decide whether to keep or discard the card.
